늘담배 냄새가날것같은 그의 목소리...

듣다보면 가슴이 무너져 눈물이라도 흐를것 같은 멜로디...

많은 사람들이 이 곡을 불렀었다.

두개의 부제가 붙어 있는 노래.

Tom 의 오리지널과 리메이크 버젼중 제일 좋아하는 Rod Stewart의 목소리로도 들어본다.

훨씬 높은 음역의 그가 부르는 곡과 오리지널의 비교도 재미가 있을듯 하다.

(로드의 곡은 가사가 오리지널에 비해 짧다.)

그래도 역시 오리지널의 느낌이 제일인듯하다.

영화 smoke 에서의 그의 목소리를 오랜만에 듣곤 이 노래가 오랜만에 듣고 싶어졌었다.

담배 가게...사진...크리스마스와 겨울, 저물어가는 쓸쓸한연말이떠오르는 영화.

제목이 smoke이니만큼 어쩌면 당연히 그가 제일 어울릴만한도 하다.

영화속에서 흐르던 그의 노래는 영화속에 너무나 잘녹아 들었었다.

영화의 마지막 부분에서 잠시 눈먼 여인의 아들이 되어 크리스마스를 보내던 주인공의 모습이 떠오른다.

아들이 아님을 당연히 직감을 했던 눈먼 흑인 아줌마의 표정.

그리고 그녀를 위해 기꺼이 아들역을 해주던 주인공.

그리고 그들만의 크리스마스...

같은 시각,같은 장소에서 촬영되는 매일매일 다른 사진들...

눈...

차가운 브룩클린의 겨울...

그리고 그 사람들의 사랑과 애환...

잔잔하면서도 가슴 찡한감동을 주었던 장면장면 들이 떠오른다.

5개의 작은 에피소드를 통해 보여주던 사람들의 모습들이 감동적이었다.

눈과 담배 생각이 간절한 멋진 영화.
